Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin, single use needles along different points throughout the body and is one of the most popular modalities in traditional Chinese medicine. It works well in combination with other modalities such as herbs, cupping or tui na but is also highly effective on its own.

The initial visit will include a full medical intake and past health history as well as questions based on traditional Chinese medicine theory with diagnosis and customized treatment plan for you. The practitioner will look at your tongue, read your pulse and possibly check your ears, eyes as well as palpate along the body to further diagnose. Based on diagnosis and lifestyle, Chinese medicinal herbs may be recommended as well as dietary and lifestyle recommendations.

Facial Rejuvenation

Acupuncture can work for many ailments and one of the most exciting is acupuncture on the face. It has been around for thousands of years but recently has been in the media with celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Whitney Cummings, Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie, and others. It is safe, extremely gentle, and effective! Best of all it does not require poisonous injections, fillers, or any down time away from work or family. In addition to improving digestion, immunity, and circulation, facial rejuvenation or aesthetic acupuncture is a great way to slow the aging process and improve your appearance by helping the body to carry nutrients to cells, which stimulates increased collagen and elastin production. Facial rejuvenation will reduce inflammation, improve texture, help facelifts last longer, and minimize the appearance of fine lines, discolorations, and scars. You will have a glow and still look like you.

The first appointment lasts about 2 hours, and follow ups are 60-90 minutes. For best results it is recommended to come twice a week and for at least 10 treatments. Maintenance appointments are suggested every 4-8 weeks for lasting results. Treatments include a relaxing facial cupping and gua sha treatment. You must come in with a clean face or you can purchase one of our many natural facial products. Packages are available.

A series of treatments can:

  • Encourage good health and an overall feeling of wellbeing
  • Lead to a reduction in stress being reflected in facial features
  • Slow aging from the inside out
  • Reduce scars, age or liver spots
  • Diminish or erase fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lift parts or all of the face
  • Reduce under eye circles or puffiness
  • Improve skin tone and texture
  • Tighten pores
  • Firm sagginess or droopiness in the jawline and chin
  • Be great for acne or acne scars
  • Improve lymphatic drainage/flow and metabolism
  • Balance hormones
  • Eradicate puffiness

Facial rejuvenation is not for everyone. It is not for someone who has high blood pressure, migraines, diabetes, seizures, epilepsy, hepatitis or coronary disease. It is also not advised for someone who gets botox or who is currently pregnant. Consult your provider to see how long after getting botox it is recommended to get acupuncture.

Pediatric

Children are dynamic beings, and they are amazing examples of the law of yin and yang, its interrelationships and how balance is the basis of total well being. During the first few years of life, children’s emotions are pure and uninhibited; hence their “qi” flows freely and is readily accessible. Children respond remarkably well to treatments, therefore, children’s visits are usually quick, effective and many times non-invasive! A child’s constitution can change very quickly so you can see results even faster than you can in adults. Pediatric treatments are gentle and primarily consist of tui na which is Chinese body work, which is translated into a gentle body massage or rub. We are more than happy to educate and involve the parents so they can continue certain treatments at home.
